If you have vinegar at home you can make this simple all purpose cleaner by adding some citrus peels and giving it time to infuse. This all purpose cleaner has so many uses! It is child and pet friendly, won’t burn your eyes and it doesn’t smell like vinegar! Plus with winter coming up, there are sure to be plenty of citrus peels you can use. As you can see in our picture, Irie cat approves!
What You Need:
- Jar with lid
- Citrus peels
- White Vinegar
What To Do:
- Soak the citrus peels in the white vinegar for a week. You can soak it for forever actually and it will still be effective. (I have batch that is over a year old!)
2. Strain into a glass bottle (vinegar doesn’t like plastic)
How to Use:
SURFACE CLEANER (AVOID WOOD, MARBLE, ENAMEL AND GRANITE)
Dilute 1 part vinegar solution to 4 parts water and use to clean surfaces in kitchen and bathroom.
GLASS AND WINDOW CLEANER
Dilute 1 part vinegar solution to 1 part water in a spray bottle. Spray onto window or glass surfaces and wipe clean with crumpled newsprint.
TOILET BOWL CLEANER (AVOID PORCELAIN AND ENAMEL COATED)
Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar solution into the toilet bowl and allow to sit for 20-30mins before scrubbing and flushing with grey water (you don’t flush your loo with perfectly clean drinking water, right?)
REMOVING MILDEW & TILE GROUT
In a spray bottle, combine 1 cup vinegar solution with 2 teaspoons salt and stir to dissolve the salt. Spray onto affected areas and allow to sit for 20-30mins before scrubbing.
Add 1/2 cup of your vinegar solution to your rinse cycle for a natural fabric softener
